The World : Arabs Report 27 Wounded
Israeli soldiers wounded at least 27 Palestinians during street battles in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, Arab hospital officials said. They reported at least four people seriously wounded in confrontations in Tammun, a West Bank village, and in several areas of Gaza, including a 9-year-old boy who was shot in the head and a 14-year-old girl who was shot in the back. The army confirmed four wounded and said it was checking the other reports. Meanwhile, the army lifted some curfews and other restrictions imposed in an effort to curtail violence and celebrations connected with Tuesday’s proclamation by the Palestine Liberation Organization of an independent Palestinian state.
