JAZZ
The definer of cool jazz, trumpeter Miles Davis, canceled six concerts in Italy and the rest of his European tour Thursday after collapsing at the end of a concert in Madrid on Tuesday night, according to the Spanish daily newspaper El Pais. Promoter Tito Ramoneda said he 62-year-old Davis fainted and fell off stage after his Tuesday performance at the Madrid Jazz Festival. Diagnosed as suffering from arrhythmia, Davis--who’s also a diabetic--received an injection of insulin and was ordered to remain in bed in his hotel room in the Spanish capital, the paper said. His full recovery is expected to take a few days.
