Grumman Corp.’s third-quarter net income jumped 178% from a year ago to $22.5 million. The Bethpage, N.Y.-based company, whose businesses include aerospace, electronic and information services and vehicle manufacturing, said revenue increased 8% to $831.5 million. Gains were reported in the company’s aerospace segment, including a $16.8-million benefit from an accounting adjustment. The company also noted that its data systems division recently added two Air Force contracts with $500 million of business potential.
