Mission Viejo Retains Top Spot in County Poll
Mission Viejo High School, coming off a 42-7 victory over San Clemente that clinched its second consecutive South Coast League title, remained the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep football poll with a week remaining.
Mission Viejo can clinch its first county championship with a victory over Dana Hills Friday night.
Woodbridge is the only other county school with 9 victories and has the county’s longest current winning streak with 13 consecutive victories.
In the featured game of the week, third-ranked Servite meets 10th-ranked Mater Dei at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Santa Ana Stadium.
