Science / Medicine : Program on Nov. 19 to Mark Diabetes Month
The American Diabetes Assn. estimates there are more than 2,000 people under the age of 21 in Los Angeles County who have diabetes. During the last year, the association has attempted to locate and develop a registry of these young people.
To mark the first year’s efforts, and as part of the observance of November as National Diabetes Month, on Nov. 19 there will be a day-long program for diabetic youngsters and their families at the California Museum of Science and Industry.
The event will include educational seminars and workshops in both English and Spanish, exhibits, sessions for preschoolers and museum tours. Registration required. Call (213) 381-3639.
