Mix a Virgin Mary with a Shirley Temple and you get . . . maybe the winning recipe in the “Cheers Cocktail” non-alcoholic drink contest. To promote safety and sobriety during the holidays, television station XETV-6 and radio station KIFM-FM (98.1) are sponsoring the contest for the best non-alcoholic drink. A panel of KIFM and XETV staffers will judge the recipes on the basis of originality and taste. The winner will receive accommodations for four at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, admission to a live taping of the television show “Cheers,” backstage passes to meet the show’s cast, a VIP tour of Paramount Studios and, perhaps most important, a KIFM shirt and a Fox XETV-6 shot glass. The winner will be announced Dec. 2 on XETV-6 following the 7 p.m. showing of “Cheers” and on KIFM.
