Could America be ready for “Kink II: Dog Frenzy”? That’s the question Jodi Carr and Steve Channon are asking themselves in the wake of their triumph at the Canine Film Festival in New York. The tyro production team copped the top honors and its $20,000 prize with “Kink’s Calypso,” a cinematic retelling of the 9-year-old dachshund’s fantasy visit to Hawaii, where he sips multicolored drinks with little umbrellas. Other winners included Checkers--winner of best performance by a dog in a video--and Lepky, best canine comedy for taking Fifi, a French poodle, on a drive in a sports car while the Beach Boys sing “Little Deuce Coupe.”
