Asbestos Insulation Falls Into Community

SAN JOSE — Pieces of potentially hazardous asbestos insulation fell into a south San Jose neighborhood last weekend from used wine vats taken by helicopter from the old Almaden Winery to Fetzer Vineyards in Sonoma County, officials said Thursday.
No health danger was anticipated from short-term exposure to the cardboard-like debris, but long-term exposure could prove harmful if the asbestos particles get into the air, health officials said.
