Cobras Open Arena Football Playoffs on the Road Against Chicago Bruisers
The Los Angeles Cobras, for the third straight week, will play the Chicago Bruisers, but this time it will be in an opening-round Arena Football playoff game.
Tonight’s winner at the Rosemont Horizon in suburban Chicago will advance to next week’s Arena Bowl, indoor football’s championship game. In the teams’ previous meetings this season, each has won a game, and one game was a tie.
Chicago finished first in the regular season with a 10-1-1 record, and the Cobras were fourth at 5-6-1. The winner will play the Detroit Drive, which defeated the Pittsburgh Gladiators, 34-25, Friday night at Detroit.
Tonight’s game will spotlight the league’s top quarterbacks, Matt Stevens of the Cobras and Ben Bennett of the Bruisers. Stevens led the league with 50 touchdown passes and 2,535 yards passing. Bennett was second with 49 touchdowns and 2,304 yards.
ESPN will televise tonight’s game at 5:30, PDT.
