The San Diego City Council has approved designs for the Courtyard, a $52-million, 400-unit apartment and retail project to be built on a redevelopment site bounded by 1st, Front, G and Market streets.
The project is a joint effort of Tutor-Saliba Properties, Sylmar, and the Paragon Group, Los Angeles.
The Courtyard will consist of two buildings, one 41 stories and the other 11, both designed by Johnson Fain & Pereira Associates, Los Angeles. Construction is expected to start early next year, with completion set for 1991.
