Ford Boosts Dividend 33%

DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford Motor Co., spreading the fruits of a year in which it will likely become the nation’s most profitable company, today approved a stock split and boosted its dividend 33%.
The dividend rose to $1 per share from 75 cents and the stock will be split on a two-for-one basis. Rising profits make it possible that Ford will earn more in 1987 than any other American company, surpassing the recent top earners Exxon, International Business Machines and General Motors.
