Claremont : Plants on Sale at College

Several cattleya orchid hybrids from the collection of actor Raymond Burr are included in a four-week plant sale at Cal Poly Pomona.

Burr has given thousands of orchids to the university with the intention of making it one of the world’s largest orchid collections.

Hundreds of outdoor and house plants are also for sale at the university’s nursery, which is operated by the ornamental horticulture department.

Sale hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
