Speaking of star turns, G. Gordon Liddy has his first starring television role in the NBC movie “The Highwayman,” the story of an undercover law enforcer who tries to save “a war veteran targeted for death” by a corrupt town official. The movie, which also stars Sam Jones and Jimmy Smits, airs Sept. 20. Liddy began his acting career on “Miami Vice,” where he played the occasional role of Captain Maynard, a. k. a. “Captain Real Estate,” a former American military officer, drug dealer and soldier of fortune.
