New President for Housing Foundation
The Rev. Laverne Joseph, formerly a United Church of Christ pastor in suburban Chicago, is the new president and chief executive officer of Retirement Housing Foundation, which operates 20 communities for the elderly in Southern California, among them the Angelus Plaza.
He replaces the Rev. Clark Harshfield, who has retired. The foundation, headquartered in Long Beach, owns or manages developments that house 10,000 seniors, most of whose income is supplemented by the Deparment of Housing and Urban Development.
