Mickelson and Rudolph Tie for 3rd in Youth Golf Tournament

PINEHURST, N.C. — Phil Mickelson of San Diego, Harry Rudolph of La Jolla and Jim Beavers of Senatobia, Miss., finished tied for third Tuesday with a four-day total of 300 in the 19th Big I Insurance youth golf tournament at Pinehurst Country Club.
Brian Craig of Gastonia, N.C., shot a two-over-par 74 Tuesday and finished with a 10-over 298 to edge Bill Hoefle of Ames, Iowa, by one stroke for the championship.
More than 10,000 golfers competed in regional and state qualifying events, with 169 advancing to the finals at Pinehurst.
