Playwright Jim Allen’s controversial drama “Perdition”--which alleges that Zionist Jews collaborated with the Nazis during World War II--received its first public presentation Monday night at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, nearly seven months after it was withdrawn from its London premiere 48 hours before the first preview. Respectful applause and a nearly full house at Edinburgh’s 160-seat Royal Lyceum Studio Theatre greeted the reading, while outside about 50 protesters denounced the piece as anti-Semitic.
