The Nation : Texan Didn’t Have AIDS
Jimmy Glenn Ethridge, the slain insurance salesman who Texas authorities feared may have passed the AIDS virus to dozens of children, was never exposed to the disease, Dr. Charles Petty, the Dallas County medical examiner, said. Petty, who performed an autopsy on Etheridge, said that an earlier analysis indicating exposure to the AIDS virus was wrong. Etheridge, 37, was shot to death June 29 in his Marlin, Tex., home by a 16-year-old house mate who authorities say will not be prosecuted. A search of the home turned up computer records of his sexual contacts with young males, snapshots of boys and videocassettes of male homosexual acts.
