Page’s Contributions
Evelyn De Wolfe’s article on the dean of California landscape architects (June 14) was a fitting tribute to a wonderful man. I have had the privilege of knowing Mr. Page for a number of years, and there is no question that he has made an enormous contribution to Los Angeles and other parts of the United States.
In addition to the many civic areas designated in the article, he also worked for controlling signs and billboards in the city and the state and was one of the strongest advocates for Los Angels Beautiful and the American Society of Landscape Architects in fighting to improve the civic beauty in Los Angeles and California cities and counties.
