Police rescued 23 illegal aliens being held for ransom by four gunmen at a Pomona house. Four Mexican nationals were booked for investigation of smuggling the others into the United States illegally, Joe Flanders, a spokesman for the Immigration and Naturalization Service, said. They were identified as Ramon Gutierrez, 32; Esteban Najgra, 25; Jesus Gomez-Lopez, 32, and Cruz Hernandez, 34. The 23 aliens may return to Mexico voluntarily or request an immigration hearing.
