The government has chartered a luxury liner for use in an eight-day military exercise this month simulating a terrorist attack on a U.S. commercial vessel, military officials said in Honolulu. The 682-foot, 800-passenger cruise ship Independence will suspend tourist cruises beginning Aug. 29 for the exercises, which will involve the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard.
