Organ Music at Baseball Parks
Scott Ostler’s column (Aug. 3) not only was factual but also amusing. I am speaking of a paragraph dealing with the organ, or in particular with the organist at the Big A.
It is nonsensical so-called music consisting of dah-dah-dah--dah-dah-dah, and increasing in volume as the game progresses. It is very nearly impossible for a person to keep his mind on the players and their talents. That is true if you’re watching the game in person or taking it in via radio or TV.
If someone would ask me what could be done to improve big league baseball I would say, “Take the blankety-blank organs out of all ballparks.”
