Archbishop Roger Mahony

In reference to Mahony’s comments, I resented his gloating over the “positive side of AIDS,” in that it has helped trigger a new attitude about sexual promiscuity. His “so be it” attitude may develop into a pandemic disaster to equal the great plagues of medieval Europe, which for the most part, had nothing to do with sex. The phenomenon of AIDS might do more than “wake up our country.” It may bury us by the thousands, including many innocent victims not involved in homosexuality or drug use, and it seems to be doing this already. So let’s pray and not have malicious pleasure in this awful situation.
