ICN Biomedicals Inc. Agrees to Buy 2 Firms
ICN Biomedicals Inc., a subsidiary of ICN Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Costa Mesa, said Wednesday that it has agreed to purchase Radioassay Systems Laboratories and Immuchem Corp. of Carson.
Terms of the deal, which is scheduled to close this month, were not disclosed. RSL and its sales arm, Immuchem, reported total sales of $6 million in 1986.
The acquisitions are part of ICN’s long-held strategy to build its business by buying companies in the growing field of immunodiagnostics products, which are used in medical testing.
