7 Die in Zulu Clashes

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — Seven people died in an outbreak of fighting between rival clans of the Zulu tribe, police said Tuesday. They said that members of the Ndukene clan attacked the home of a chief of the Menyiswayo clan in Natal province Monday, shooting and killing two people, smashing three of the chief’s cars and destroying nearby shops. Menyiswayo clan members retaliated, killing five people.
