Wrather Corp. Chairman Bonita Granville Wrather and President Christopher Wrather would consider selling their shares and those belonging to the estate of the late Jack D. Wrather Jr. as part of a merger “which they consider to be in the best interests of all . . . stockholders,” the company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The surprising offer to sell the family shares, which total 35.3% of Wrather’s 7.25 million shares outstanding, followed an announcement that the firm had rejected an unsolicited takeover bid.
