A two-alarm fire destroyed 114 privately owned golf carts at the StoneRidge Country Club Friday, the Poway Fire Department reported.
The cause of the 11:15 p.m. fire is under investigation. Firefighters estimated the loss in golf carts at about $500,000.
The fire swept through a shed housing the private cars; another shed containing the club’s 30 golf carts was not damaged in the blaze, a country club spokesman said.
