Odetics’ Earnings Jump Nearly Ninefold to $283,000

Odetics Inc., an Anaheim-based manufacturer of advanced robots and other “intelligent” machines, reported a profit of $283,000 during its fiscal 1988 first quarter, nearly nine times the $32,000 earned during the same period a year ago.

The company’s sales reached a record $11.7 million during the three months ended June 30, up 30% from $9 million a year earlier. Odetics attributed the earnings improvement to increased sales across all company product lines.
