Hunt Appears Before Grand Jury
WASHINGTON — Texas billionaire Nelson Bunker Hunt appeared today before the federal grand jury investigating the Iran- contra scandal, his attorney said.
His attorney, Mark Zimmerman of Dallas, declined to say whether Hunt would discuss testimony last week at the congressional hearings on the scandal that the Texas billionaire contributed money to the private contra supply effort. William O’Boyle, one of those who testified about making contributions, said he was told by conservative fund raiser Carl Channell that Hunt had given money but was never able to verify that fact.
