Cambodian Premier Hun Sen said the country’s guerrilla war has reached a stalemate and that recent overtures by Prince Norodom Sihanouk, the rebel coalition leader, are not realistic. “We want to put an end to war, but if the other side does not accept (compromises), we have no choice but to continue,” he said in an interview. Hun Sen repeated his promise that Vietnamese troops will be withdrawn from Cambodia by 1990. Vietnam invaded Cambodia in December, 1978, and ousted the Pol Pot regime.
