Since NBC is quartered in Hollywood, one has to wonder just why it pilfered the title “The Freeway Murders,” which Los Angelenos know refers to the infamous homosexual serial killings. The NBC “Police Story” fiction changed the entire scenario to one of sexual/heterosexual murders and thus the title should have been an invented one, not a factual appellation for a series of the most revolting crimes in history.
