Flooding Drives 20,000 From Homes in Siberia

MOSCOW — Spring thaws have caused serious flooding in Kansk, a town of about 100,000 people in central Siberia near the Trans-Siberian Railway, the news agency Tass said Thursday. About 20,000 people were evacuated from 2,500 houses and about a third of the town, including a number of industrial plants, was under water, Tass said. No casualties were reported.
