VIDEO CHART ACTION

Look for two chart newcomers--”The Color of Money” (No. 25) and “Children of a Lesser God” (No. 36)--to be in the Top 10 of the Billboard magazine videocassette rental chart next week. Both have No. 1 potential. For the second week in a row, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” is the No. 1 rental. “Peggy Sue Got Married” has already marched up to No. 3 after only three weeks on the chart. Enduring hits: “Top Gun” (No. 2), “Legal Eagles” (No. 4), “Blue Velvet” (No. 7) and “The Fly” (No. 8). “Nothing in Common,” the comedy-drama starring Tom Hanks and Jackie Gleason, is also doing well at No. 11. But “Sid & Nancy” is apparently too grim for rental audiences; it peaked at No. 19 and, at No. 30, is already slipping. “Top Gun” has been the best-selling videocassette for more than two months. Other sales charts: “Sleeping Beauty” is still the top kidvid; and two from the First Lady of Fitness--”Jane Fonda’s Low-Impact Aerobic Workout” and “Jane Fonda’s New Workout”--head the health and fitness chart.
