Iranian aircraft bombed an industrial plant at Dohuk, in northern Iraq, in retaliation for recent attacks by Iraqi jets against Iranian installations, Tehran’s state-run news agency IRNA said. A military statement, carried by IRNA, said the Iranian jets caused considerable damage in the raid and that all planes returned safely. In Baghdad, a military spokesman said two Iranian planes tried to attack residential areas of Dohuk but were driven off by anti-aircraft fire.
