Simi Valley Sprinter Signs With Notre Dame
Robert Harris of Simi Valley High, one of the top sprinters in the Southern Section, has signed a letter of intent to attend Notre Dame next fall.
Harris said he wanted to attend UCLA but decided against it because the architectural engineering department had no openings for freshmen. He then made recruiting trips to Notre Dame and Fresno State before signing with the Indiana school.
Harris placed fifth in the 1986 state championships at 200 meters and won the Marmonte League title in that race last Friday. He has personal bests of 10.6 in the 100 meters, 21.4 in the 200 and 48.54 in the 400.
