President Quett Masire appealed for international aid on Wednesday to combat the effects of a drought ravaging land-locked Botswana for the sixth consecutive year.

Speaking on state radio, Masire said the drought has decimated herds of cattle and wiped out crops throughout the country and that the government will be forced to continue a $13-million relief program at least until the end of 1988.
