Reagan’s Dealing With Iran
It seems the news media use every occasion possible to attack our President. They are doing so again, so unfairly.
The media have publicized the words of hostage families as they have accused President Reagan of doing nothing to secure the release of their loved ones. No one defends him and the White House, suggesting that in such a serious and difficult situation, we can assume our government is trying to find an answer.
Now, The Times blows up the story of White House aid to Iran to seek release for our hostages.
Apparently the hostages are not important. Would the media prefer they die in captivity?
I am grateful that our President has had the courage to take some action. I am ashamed of The Times for attacking him.
