The World : Israeli Jets Hit PLO Targets
Israeli warplanes struck Palestinian guerrilla targets near the Lebanese port city of Sidon, smashing a command post and a training base and wounding at least three people, Lebanese police reported. The raid was Israel’s 14th air attack in Lebanon this year. In Tel Aviv, the Israeli military command said the target “was used by terrorists as a naval base for training and as a departure point for attacks.” A guerrilla spokesman in Beirut said the jets also hit targets at the Ein el Hilwa refugee camp, which is home to at least 30,000 Palestinians.
