Hermosa Beach : Bikes on Strand Restricted
The City Council voted 4 to 1 to prohibit bicycle riding on The Strand between 10th and 15th streets beginning May 1.
The council has indicated, however, that the ordinance may be repealed or expanded to include skate-boarding and roller-skating, depending on recommendations of the recently appointed Strand Safety Committee.
The 11-member committee was appointed to study and make recommendations for safe use of the beachfront strip by bicyclists, skaters, joggers, pedestrians and others.
