Marcia Herrman, a volunteer at the child advocate’s office of the Los Angeles Superior Court, was named Volunteer of the Year from among 43,000 volunteers who donated 2.86-million hours of work on behalf of the county government. Herrman, a Studio City resident, works with children in the court’s shelter care facility as they await dependency hearings. “What I do most want to do is support the children and make them feel better about themselves,” she said.
