Students Join Hands in Fight for Free Expression

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — About 300 Pittsfield High School students responded to a ban on hand-holding in the hallways by clasping hands and sneaking a few kisses in an impromptu protest Friday. Students presented Principal William P. Coan a petition maintaining that a recent administration crackdown on hand-holding violated their constitutional right to free expression.
