There’s No Charm in the Third Time as Woodbridge Comes Up Short, 51-49
Senior Tracy Lindsey scored 22 points to lead Eisenhower High School to a 51-49 Southern Section 4-A Boys’ basketball playoff victory over Woodbridge Friday night in Rialto.
Lindsey, a 6-foot 3-inch forward, put the Eagles ahead by the final margin on a pair of free throws with 40 seconds left.
Woodbridge (21-7) had three chances to tie the game in the final 36 seconds.
After Lindsey made two free throws, the Warriors called time and then worked the ball to center Adam Keefe, who finished with a team-high 16 points. His 10-foot jumper went off the rim.
Lindsey then missed a free throw, and the Warriors Vince Bryan rebounded with 20 seconds remaining. This time down, Mike Sullivan missed an 18-foot jumper.
