BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Willie Molano’s goal at 10:27 of the third overtime gave the Los Angeles Lazers a 5-4 victory over the Minnesota Strikers in a Major Indoor Soccer League game Wednesday night.
The game took 100 minutes 27 seconds to play, making it the longest in MISL history. The previous record was 87:24.
Molano knocked in the winning goal after Striker goalkeeper Tino Lettieri failed to completely clear a 20-foot shot by Batata.
The Strikers appeared to have the game won, but with 48 seconds remaining in regulation time, Beto scored on an 18-foot shot to send the game into overtime.
