Cerritos : Isuzu Center Approved
The City Council has approved two separate commercial developments, including the construction of a 96,000-square-foot design center for Isuzu vehicles.
The U. S. division of the Japanese auto manufacturer plans to build the Isuzu Technical Center on 7.2 acres on the northwest corner of Shoemaker Avenue and Moore Street. The single-story industrial complex will be an automotive design center and testing laboratory. Construction is scheduled to start this fall and be completed by the summer of 1987.
Council members also approved plans by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers to build a regional headquarters in the city. The two-story complex for the union will be built on 1.2 acres on the northeast corner of Artesia Boulevard and Clarkdale Avenue. Construction on the 18,750-square-foot project is expected to begin this summer and be completed by early 1987.
