Bristol-Myers Co. said that it had an 11% increase in fourth-quarter net earnings, boosting profits to a record level. Bristol-Myers, which makes such diverse consumer products as Bufferin, Clairol and Drano, said the profit margin improved during 1985 despite costs stemming from the reorganization and consolidation of some Clairol and U.S. pharmaceutical and nutritional operations. The firm noted that the weakening of the dollar over the year had a negative impact on the company’s foreign earnings.
