USIU Wins in Hockey
SAN DIEGO — The USIU hockey team outshot Merrimack College, 38-18, Friday en route to a 4-1 win at the Mira Mesa House of Ice.
Despite the Gulls’ domination on offense, the game was tied, 1-1, after two periods.
Tom Gemz’s goal at 11:33 of the third period proved to be the game winner. Jeff Dobeck and Doug Hannesson added goals to put the game out of reach. Gordie Stewart scored the game’s first goal for USIU (11-10).
