Delta Jet Lands Safely After Wheels Malfunction
Associated Press
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A New York-bound Delta airliner carrying 35 people made an emergency landing Thursday, when the wheels under its left wing malfunctioned shortly afer takeoff.
No one was hurt and damage to the plane was minor, a Delta spokesman said.
The pilot, Capt. Peter Everill returned the plane to Memphis International Airport after a warning signal on the landing gear was activated, airport officials said.
The passengers left the plane through evacuation chutes.
