Anaheim : Two Roths Can’t Both Be Right About Game
Don Roth is a betting man. So is Don Roth.
One Roth said the Anaheim-based Los Angeles Rams will whip the Chicago Bears this Sunday. The other Roth said the Rams haven’t got a chance during the National Football Conference championship game.
To back their claims, Mayor Roth of Anaheim and restaurateur Roth of Chicago--who are not related--placed a wager on the game.
“I will take him and his family to Disneyland if the Bears win. If the Rams win, he sends me a piece of prime rib and a case of Don Roth special salad dressing,” said the mayor, who has lived in Chicago and is familiar with the Don Roth Restaurant, previously called Don Roth’s Black Hawk Restaurant.
Mayor Roth called the wager “a side bet” to one he made with Chicago Mayor Harold Washington earlier this week. Roth told Washington he will ship him a crate of oranges if the Bears win. But if the Rams win, Washington will give the Anaheim mayor two free dinners at the Chicago restaurant that bears his name.
