Paging All Numbers

I like your new format. The puzzle is easier to erase on and I particularly like seeing the pictures of Jack Smith, who has long been one of my favorite columnists. But can’t you please find some way of numbering your pages so people could find them?

‘SF’ identifies pages that appear in our San Fernando Valley zone edition. As you may have noticed, we have converted our zone-edition paging to a letter sequence. Thus in today’s magazine, the first half of the zone section begins with Page 24A, followed by 24B, etc. The second half begins with Page 40A, followed by 40B, etc. Pages with bleed photographs or full-page advertisements are not numbered. Due to mechanical restrictions, zone-section articles are not included on the contents page. The number in the lower left corner of the cover indicates the zone edition. San Fernando Valley is indicated by a 2.
