Mervyn’s said it planned to open stores in Atlanta.
The California-based retailer has made plans to open eight to nine stores in the Atlanta area starting in 1986, said John F. Kilmartin, Mervyn’s chairman and chief executive. “In addition, we are looking for sites in the Cumberland and Perimeter areas as well as locations on I-20 east of Atlanta and Georgia 400 north of Atlanta.”
