THE GREAT BOOK DEBATE

In their letters regarding the Book Review section June 23, William R. Mann refers to “all four of the people who read that section� (and dazzles us with other inane and uncomplimentary remarks), and Dan Watts opines that “the thrill of its discovery after the shake-out (to locate the section) is perhaps its only redeeming feature.

I suspect that these gentlemen are among the distressingly large number of illiterate cretins in this country who have never read a book and whose intellectual capacity is sorely taxed by the comic pages.
